So, for those of you who don’t know Queensburgh Quilters is a small Guild of 7 members, who meet in each other’s homes once a month.

We started on a Modern Round Robin during Covid Lockdown, well just how did we start?

A plastic container, fabrics we wanted to be used on the Quilt Top, Instructions for each Round and a Journal for each person who worked on the quilt to add some ideas and thoughts as the quilts moved around between us.
Everyone in our group has in the last 2/3 years suffered the loss in the passing of either parents, sister, friend or husband.
It has made us a very close knit group as we could all understand just how the other people were feeling.
Quilting and our Group has helped us all deal with the loss of loved ones and the waves of grief that sometimes threatened to overwhelm us.
“Thank you” to you all for your support.
Back to the quilts, each member decided on the size at the start – so we have Lap Quilts, Wall Hangings and Table Runners.
Every two months we got a set of instructions of what was required for that particular round.
We all started making our “Centre” Block and the plastic containers were on their way to the next person.
So, as mentioned earlier, life happened to all of us and the Modern Round Robin eventually took 2 years to be completed and arrive back with their owners.
As you can see from the photos we did not do the round and round additions of the usual Round Robin, that’s where the Modern comes in.
These are the members who took part :- Lynn Gait, Joy Jukes, Lorette Kerr, Annette Lee, Magda Lombard, Leanne Stewart and Beth Barkus.
We will have the finished quilts on display at Izotsha 2023.
